Camu camu is a shrub that grows mainly in the flooded areas of the Amazon rainforest. Its fruit has been used since time immemorial by the indigenous people as a source of food, topical remedy to clean and heal wounds, relieve burns and as a cosmetic, since they gave it regenerating, clarifying, vitalizing, antioxidant and energetic power. It is considered as one of the largest recognized sources of vitamin C (60 times more than orange), being more effective than the synthetic one. It provides manganese, copper, iron and calcium.
