The fig trees have been in the family for centuries and so it is a legacy passed down the generations to care for these trees, this land, and make a small living from the produce. The fruits are green figs with a thin skin which are quite unique and typical to this region. They are handpicked and, once harvested, they are immediately washed – the heat of the season doesn’t allow any time to be wasted – before being steam cooked.
